  • First Lesson

7/31/2010 was my first lesson. This is when i embarked on my new found love and hobby. I began to fly regularly after that first flight. I have found a new passion that was a childhood passion of mine!

  • Solo Time

July 4th 2011 was my first solo. I flew at Oxnard Airport. All three landings were awesome, and increased my confidence more than i could ever explain. The first solo will stick with me for the rest of my life!!! It was a turning point in my hobby!

  • Still Learning, Striving, and Flying

It has been a long journey, and an expensive on as well. But i stuck to it and keep flying as i am now so fascinated by it. I strive to learn more, and now i understand a pilots license is a license to learn!

About Me / Donate

My name is Matt.  I am 29.  My expertise is in the computer industry, which is where i have worked for over 10+ years.  I started as a IT tech fixing computers and quickly moved up as a gained knowledge.  I have 4 years of college, but did not graduate and do not have a degree of any kind.  I took all my major courses and no GE classes.  So once i had to take 1-3 years of GE, i sort of gave up on college, and started working full time to help me make a living and pay the bills.  I do want to return to school one day and finish, but i have not made any move or effort towards that as of yet.

Currently, I work as a web designer/software engineer.  But worked for Google for a while as a computer programmer/data center tech/system admin, and at a DSL company in the Network Operations department. I have always enjoyed computers and excelled at them.  I am flying just as a hobby for now, but i would not contest flying as a occupation in the future.  Which is another reason i am getting my license.  It has sparked my interest and i am now so fascinated with it!!

I have always been interested in aviation, since i can remember.  Once i got into a position where i had disposable income, i started to take flying lessons.  I started by taking the first one to see if i enjoyed it.  Once i got into the air and was flying, i fell in love.  It was a instant "High".  I was then hooked.  I enjoy every minute i am up there, and would like to fly more, but as most people in their late 20's, do not have as much money as i would like after bills, to fly as often as they want.  It has been a expensive journey so far.  I wish it was not as expensive as it is to fly.  Which is the reason my most of my friends do not take lessons even though they are interested in flying.  I hope maybe i can assist them by getting my CFI and giving them lessons.

I am also thinking about buying a Cessna 150/152/172 so i have a plane, and do not have to pay the $100+ / hr rental of aircraft in my area.  So i am trying to save money any way possible, so i can complete this goal now.  I do not want to get a OLD OLD plane, i want something a little newer and more reliable than something from the 50/60/70's even.  I would prefer 80/90's and newer, But i know i can not be picky.  If i own a plane, it would be easy for me to give my friends lessons as well.  So they can get their licenses.

If you would like to donate a little money to help me get a plane and get my CFI i would really appreciate that.  Use the donate button below to donate to me if you feel generous. So far donations are:

Total Donations: $75
Total People: 6

*If anyone wants to give me their old plane, or sell it, and i can make payments on it, at a reasonable rate, i would be forever in debt to you.  I don't have a lot to put in, but i can do $200-$300 monthly payments, and would throw more some months to help pay it off quicker.  I would help in any way with any computer needs you have.  I know this probably is not going to happen but i have to throw it out there.  I would also fly you anywhere you want!!!

If you do want to help with a plane, please contact me via matthew.boisjolie@gmail.com

To all that have given money, thank you so much.  If you feel inclined to donate, thank you for your donation.  If not, i hope my blog helps you in some way.  Thanks for looking at my blog, and happy flying.
